The Staged Photograph

Saturday & Sunday 11:00 – 17:00

Part of the Summer School at Stills series.

Immerse yourself in a Cindy Sherman inspired weekend with photographic artist Katy Hundertmark.

After an introduction to the history of the staged photograph and an inspiring tour of Stills’ Cindy Sherman exhibition you will work in a small group to learn the tools and techniques required to create your own staged image.

Aimed at those with basic photographic skills you will use digital cameras and studio lighting to reimagine Sherman’s iconic ‘Film Stills’ as well as creating your own narratives using set, costume and lighting.

You will leave with large format prints of the photographs you make using our large format Epson SureColor P7000 printer – perfect for portfolios or hanging on your wall!

Katy Hundertmark is a German-Scottish artists based in Edinburgh with a strong interest in performance and staged photography. She graduated with a Master from Glasgow School of Art in 2016 and has exhibited locally and internationally since then.
